Great Food

The Bavarian Inn restaurant was a great experience. The staff was very friendly and the chicken was the best I have ever had.

The only time I'll eat fried chicken

Posted by Penny E. on 4/4/2006

Frankenmuth has two restaurants that serve the famous fried chicken. All through childhood I went to the other restaurant, then tried the Bavarian Inn as an adult. I love it so much more! You can have it served family style, with an assortment of delicious sides. (My favorite is the buttered noodles). It's worth the 2 hr drive for me!

Tons of shopping below the restaurant

My family visits Frankenmuth every year and we never miss a chance to go shopping in the stores located on the lower level of the Bavarian Inn Restaurant. There are 7 stores below the restaurant: Doll & Toy Shop, Royal Gift Shop, Castle Bakery, The Chocolate Shop & Candy Kitchen, Souvenirs & Cheers Gift Shop, Wine & Beer Cellar, and Court Jester's Cafe. Although some items might be a little more pricey for some it's well worth it as all the shops carry unusual and unique gifts for everyone. The Doll & Toy shop has a "doll hospital" where little girls & boys can make their own custom dolls. The Royal Gift Shop has personalized gifts for most names as well as unique gifts for that hard to shop for person. The Castle Bakery offers a wide variety of baked goods and is well known for it's stolen bread. You can find all sorts of tasty goodies in the Chocolate Shop & Candy Kitchen. You'll find the perfect token to remind you of your trip to Frankenmuth at the Souvenirs & Cheers Gift Shop. They also have a wide array of nostalgic items. I'm partial to the Wine & Beer Cellar as it has TONS of hard to find, imported, wine and beer. You'll find wind and beer from all over the world there. And to finish out your trip through the shops is the Court Jester's Cafe where you can grab a bite to eat before hitting the town of Frankenmuth for more shopping and sight seeing. The restaurant itself offers a large menu with tons of choices for everyone, including kids. Their biggest seller is the "all you can eat" chicken dinner that's served like a 4 or 5 course meal. You can't go wrong with the Bavarian Inn.

Who can go to Frankenmuth without stopping at the Barvarian Inn for something to eat? I can't!I've eaten there for years and years and it's doesn't seem any different than when I was a kid!

The Bavarian Inn in Frankenmuth is famous for its Frankenmuth chicken dinners. They offer a complete family dinner that will totally shock you it comes with so much stuff. You get noodles, potatoes, salads, breads, desserts, and much more in addition to your chicken. You also can get refills on everything. In the lower level there a several nice shops selling baked goods, gifts, and much more. This averages around $17 a person.
